JDP is a court diversion program, that provides services based on a youth’s risk and needs. The targeted age group to be served is youth 17 and under, that have been charged with a misdemeanor or first-time felony offense of the third degree. The youth must be willing to accept responsibility for their actions.

The JDP court counselor will conduct an assessment to address a youth’s risk and any unmet needs. The JDP court counselor will then develop sanctions for the youth to complete.  The sanctions are to be meaningful and hold youth accountable for their actions, while providing necessary referrals to outside agencies. By addressing those needs youth are encouraged to successfully complete the program while minimizing the risk of becoming a repeat offender.
