Court-Appointed Counsel Registry

Section 27.40, Florida Statutes, requires the chief judge of the judicial circuit to compile a list of attorneys in private practice, by category of cases, who are available for appointment when the Public Defender’s Office and the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel are unable to provide representation due to a conflict of interest. This list consists of attorneys in private practice.
 
The Thirteenth Judicial Circuit is currently accepting applications for the Biennial Court-Appointed Counsel Registry for fiscal years July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 and July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. If you wish to apply, please complete the Biennial Court-Appointed Counsel Registry Application, Certification, and Addendums. The deadline for submitting the electronic application is by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025. Hard copies and applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
