Procedures/Preferences

Unless otherwise directed by the Court, Pretrials, Jury Trials, Non-Jury Trials and Evidentiary Hearings scheduled for longer than 30 minutes, will be conducted in person.  All other hearings will be conducted electronically via Zoom. Please see the Zoom information below:

**EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2024, ALL PRETRIALS WILL BE CONDUCTED IN PERSON UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED BY THE JUDGE.

 

Non-Jury Trials and Evidentiary Hearings between 30 minutes to one hour in length may be scheduled without prior approval via JAWS.  Once scheduled, the parties must notify the JA to ensure a courtroom and clerk is reserved for the in-person hearing.  The parties must email the JA to request Non-Jury Trials and Evidentiary Hearings exceeding one hour in length.

If case has settled, the parties must either:

-File a Notice of Voluntary Dismissal and email a copy to JA

-File a Joint Motion to Cancel Pretrial and Trial and upload an order granting same via the

e-Portal indicating the case has settled. The Order must be signed prior to the Pretrial.

After Motion is filed with clerk, email JA to notify. 

All documents must be submitted at least three business days prior to hearing. If the total number of pages exceeds 10 pages in length, they must be provided in hard copy. Documents that are 10 pages or less in length may be emailed.

. State in the cover letter whether the order is contested or uncontested.  If contested, state the objection in accordance with A.O. S-2024-046.

 

 

CMCs:

There are no designated Case Management Conference hearing sessions available on JAWS.  CMCs may be scheduled during the UMC docket or one of the “Daily 15” hearing sessions.  Parties should include “Case Management Conference” under the hearing description.
