About Problem Solving Courts

ADULT DRUG RECOVERY COURT
The Adult Drug Recovery Court is designed to treat and assist those individuals whose drug and alcohol problems have resulted in being charged with a 3rd degree felony.

ADULT MENTAL HEALTH COURT
This court allows eligible participants the opportunity to receive mental health treatment in lieu of incarceration. Successful completion of this program will result in the participant’s charges being dismissed. 

DRUG PRETRIAL INTERVENTION
The Adult Drug Pretrial Intervention Court allows first- and second-time drug offenders the opportunity to avoid having a felony conviction on their record.
After completing a background check, the defendant signs a contract in which he or she agrees to complete a drug treatment program and the State Attorney's Office agrees to drop the charges upon successful completion of that program. 

EARLY CHILDHOOD COURT

Early Childhood Court is a voluntary program for families with children ages 0-3 involved in Hillsborough County Dependency Court. The program’s goal is to promote timely permanency, improve child-safety, improve well-being, and heal trauma.


FAMILY DEPENDENCY TREATMENT COURT

JUVENILE DRUG COURT
Students who are arrested at school are given the option to enroll in the Juvenile Drug Court program which then allows a student to enroll in school and potentially have the charge dismissed upon successful completion of the program.

JUVENILE MENTAL HEALTH COURT 
This court allows eligible juvenile participants the opportunity to receive mental health treatment. Successful completion of this program will result in the participant’s charges being dismissed. 

MARCHMAN ACT DRUG TREATMENT COURT
This court allows family members and loved ones to petition the court for substance abuse assessment and treatment for their family member that has lost the power of self-control, due to their substance use. 

VETERANS TREATMENT COURT
This court allows eligible veterans the opportunity to receive treatment for their substance use disorder, mental health disorder, or traumatic brain injury.  Successful completion of this program will result in the veteran’s charges being dismissed.
