About Domestic Violence Program

Description

All alleged batterers entering the program are screened by one of the approved local providers. Based on the screening assessment, they are classified by level and enter a treatment program. A contractor reviews Batterer Treatment program criteria for each level, which assists the Administrative Office of the Courts in obtaining suitable services for perpetrators of domestic violence. The contractor reviews the application forms of prospective providers and makes recommendations to the AOC regarding the applicant. In addition, the contractor furnishes the AOC with monitoring reports and recommendations on continued participation of each court-approved treatment provider. AOC staff represents the courts on the community Domestic Violence Task Force, which was formed to provide an effective coordinated community response to domestic violence.
