Description
Court Technology oversees and provides technical support to all voice, video and data communications within the court's complex. Extensive assistance is provided to the judges, judicial assistants and court staff for both routine operations and complex technological problems.
History
In 1990, CT was created to meet the initial challenges to establishing the court’s first network, to establish security practices and to adopt policies and guidelines for staff. The Judicial Automation Data Services (JADS) Committee was established to adopt policies and guidelines. Judges serve on advisory committee for the chief judge. Today that committee has been renamed the Judicial Technology Committee. The issues the committee addresses are more relevant to the times, such as integration of communication systems with Microsoft architectural or VoIP with teleconferencing tools or accessing remote e-mail and calendaring using PDAs.
