The courts have implemented a plan to ensure court personnel, facilities and systems are prepared and alternate locations are available to continue operations. Because of the unprecedented flow of traffic in the downtown area, the courts have taken steps to reduce the number of citizens required to appear at the George Edgecomb Courthouse downtown; no one will be required to report for jury duty, appear for family law or civil hearings, but the courts are "open!"
There will be no hearings, trials, or other court scheduled events requiring citizens to appear at the downtown courthouse complex (Edgecomb Building and Courthouse Annex) during the Republican National Convention. No one will be required to report for jury duty.
Citizens who may attempt to access court services at the downtown courthouse location will be directed to the alternative location that is most convenient to providing the services requested.
