PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Judge Michelle Sisco is a graduate of H.B. Plant High School, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Florida College of Law. After graduating from law school in 1991, Judge Sisco was hired by Bill James as an Assistant State Attorney in Hillsborough County. During Judge Sisco’s 6 years at the State Attorney’s Office, she prosecuted thousands of cases, ranging from DUI and juvenile offenses up to armed robbery, drug trafficking and first-degree murder. Judge Sisco was the Deputy Chief of Felony Division A, when she left the State Attorney’s Office in 1998 to join the law firm of Trombley & Hanes. Judge Sisco was with Trombley & Hanes for over 4 years, and during that time practiced white-collar criminal defense and civil law. Judge Sisco is board-certified in criminal trial practice and is also a former legal intern for United States District Court Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich. Judge Sisco was originally appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to the bench in August of 2002. Judge Sisco has presided over Criminal, Civil, Domestic Violence, Juvenile Delinquency and Post Conviction Relief divisions. Judge Sisco is currently assigned to General Civil, Division D.
