(July 17, 2008) – Because of his principles, philosophies and ethics, Judge Manuel Menendez, Jr. was inducted into Florida’s most prestigious leadership honorary since 1923, Florida Blue Key earlier this year. He was nominated by Ron Cacciatore and Judge Jim Moody and was approved by a unanimous vote of active chapter members. At the University of Florida, Florida Blue Key has prided itself as being the oldest and most prestigious honorary in the State of Florida. Since its inception, the organization has dedicated itself to discovering and developing leaders who have made extraordinary impacts on the state and university environments. Menendez now joins notable members of Florida Blue Key, including former Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court Stephen C. O’Connell, Ben Hill Griffin, Senator George Smathers, Senator Bill Nelson, Senator Bob Graham, Attorney General Bill McCollum, Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Susan H. Black, and Governors Wayne Mixson, Reubin Askew, Lawton Chiles, Bob Graham, Jeb Bush. These outstanding individuals separated themselves from their fellow citizens through their unwavering dedication to the principles and purposes of this organization.
