FAMILY LAW

The Family Law division encompasses many types of cases, including name changes or adoption.

Some couples who appear before judges in the family law division have been married for a few months and others for many years. While couples divorce for a variety of reasons, the actual legal proceedings are standardized.

Simply put, a divorce case is a lawsuit, filed by one party, referred to as Dissolution of Marriage. As you might expect, “dissolving” a marriage can be a complex issue. Therefore, throughout the case management process, parties are faced with decisions of “how” to “manage” their case.

As you make decisions which will make a difference in the outcome for you and your family, we hope these resources will be useful to you.
